Inglewood United Baptist Church
Off Highway 1, Exit 19

A provincially designated Historic Site. In front of the Inglewood United Baptist Church (org. 1874) 321 Bay Road, you'll find a monument commemorating Reverend David George and Reverend Richard Preston. Reverend David George, founder of the Silver Bluff Church, South Carolina, USA, escaped slavery during the American Revolution and brought his faith to Nova Scotia. Reverend Richard Preston, founder of the Cornwallis Baptist Church, organized the African Baptist Churches into the African Baptist Association (ABA) in 1854. This organization is now known as the African United Baptist Association (AUBA).
